Grab your pitchforks, I mean… pumpkins as Halloween is here! Now, Halloween is all good and dandy but if you don’t have the perfect lip colour to match your outfit, what do you have? That’s the question.
So, without further ado, your Agony Aunt Rebecca Martin (that’s me) is here to talk to you about 4 Halloween MUA lip lacquer colours that I love which can hopefully inspire potential makeup and outfit looks as who said you need to buy the outfit first? Pffft, not me.
When it comes to the MUA luxe velvet lip lacquers in general, I think they are absolutely incredible hence why I own the entire range (MUA please sponsor me) as they are so pigmented, have a diverse selection to choose from and are a bloody bargain for £3.00. One of the main things that drew me to these MUA lip lacquers in the first place, besides the price, is how their collection includes some adventurous colours that you may have wanted to try before but couldn’t justify the price in high-end shops but for £3.00, I thought why the hell not.
These MUA lip lacquers glide on the lips so effortlessly and leave a matte finish after a few seconds with its fast drying formula. In terms of how long they last, I think they are extremely long wearing. I’m serious, these MUA lip lacquers almost stick to your lips where you practically need to scratch your lips off to get rid of the colour which I guess has it’s pro’s and con’s but you can be the judge of that. Just like any matte lipstick, they can become quite drying after a long period of time which is why I’d advise you to apply any kind of lip balm you have beforehand to elongate the time your lipstick lasts for.
Listed below are the 4 Halloween MUA lip lacquer colours that I personally think will be a great asset to go with certain outfits, in the hope you get some inspiration or it sparks a new idea for you this Halloween.
Make your mark with Curious! When I first think of Halloween, I always associate Halloween with orange and purple colours which is why I figured this dark purple was very fitting for the occasion. A dark purple can be the bold statement you need to compliment a smokey eye which is why I thought this colour would look amaze if you are dressing up as a Witch, a Fairy or maybe even the lady from CBBC’s Trapped TV show (if anyone remembers that show, please say you do) plus much more.
Enter the dark side with Potent! This MUA luxe velvet lip lacquer is black and is the darkest colour of the range, with it being such a versatile colour, this can be worn with pretty much any Halloween outfit or outfit in general as it won’t clash with any other colours. You could wear this lipstick as a Cat, a Pumpkin, a Witch, a Skeleton, Wednesday Addams from the Addams Family and more, which is why I think this is a perfect lip colour for Halloween.
Splash into the unknown with this navy blue lip colour! Although you may be thinking blue isn’t a Halloween colour, I think Halloween is becoming less scary and more of an excuse for people to dress up however they like, which is why I thought this colour would be ideal for a Mermaid look, dressing up as the Cookie Monster or even Sadness from the Disney Pixar film, Inside out. There’s plenty of options, just depends how creative you want to be with it!
This ghostly number is, in fact, a Lip Base Coat used for all MUA luxe velvet lip lacquer shades to enhance the colours more, however, on its own, I figured this could be used as a Halloween lip colour instead. After trying it myself, it is just as pigmented as the other colours which is why I think this could be used for a number of different Halloween outfits such as a ghost, a frozen ice queen and a skeleton, just to name a few.
A little tip for you bargainers out there, when Boots or Superdrug have a 3 for 2 deal, I’d definitely recommend getting the MUA lip lacquers then as you’ll be able to get 3 of them for the price of £6.00 instead of paying £9.00, which you certainly can’t argue with.
Have a spooktacular Halloween!
All the love,
Becca’s Bubble xo
